Dhaval Patel
Dhaval L. Patel, MIS, is the Global AI Leader for Life Sciences at ChapsVision, where he leads the strategic adoption of AI across the life sciences industry to break the productivity wall and radically accelerate drug discovery and development.
With more than 20 years of experience at the intersection of enterprise AI and life sciences, Dhaval has spent his career tackling one of the industry's most pressing challenges: the fact that bringing a single drug to market takes over a decade and billions of dollars, with an unacceptably high failure rate. His work focuses on helping pharma and biotech organizations deploy operational AI at enterprise scale in a governed, compliant environment, connecting fragmented data into a unified knowledge foundation that accelerates every stage of the drug development lifecycle, from target identification and clinical trials to regulatory submissions and post-market surveillance.
Before ChapsVision, Dhaval founded Pfizer's first enterprise Data Science team, led global AI and real-world evidence strategy at Novartis, and headed Advanced Analytics and Data Science at SAS Institute. This track record gives him a rare, end-to-end perspective on what it takes to move AI from pilot to production in regulated environments.
Dhaval is also Co-Founder and Chief AI Officer of AI4Purpose Inc., a nonprofit focused on responsible AI for social good, and serves as Adjunct Professor at NYU Tandon School of Engineering. He is a member of the American Statistical Association and an active voice in the industry's ongoing conversation about how AI can transform the way we develop medicines and ultimately get better therapies to patients faster.
