Ismaeel Bashir

Ismaeel Bashir is co-founder and CEO of Expanse (YC Spring 26), which delivers compute certainty: its software predicts exactly what a workload needs before it runs, so teams do more with the GPU infrastructure they already own, privately and on their own hardware. He built the first multimodal HPC resource predictor at EPCC (Edinburgh's Parallel Computing Centre), the UK's national supercomputing centre, beating every published baseline, and co-authored Morphling, a best-paper winner at EdgeSys on performance modelling for distributed machine learning. Before Expanse he ran large-scale machine learning at one of the world's largest quantitative hedge funds.
